School District No. 73 is currently accepting applications for the Aboriginal Education Worker (AEW) Relief roster, with the possibility of an appointment to a position in the 2024 / 2025 school year.

Aboriginal Education Workers provide assistance and support to either individual or groups of Aboriginal students. The successful applicants will be of Aboriginal Ancestry and have a thorough knowledge of applicable Aboriginal culture, tradition and issues, both historical and contemporary.

Qualifications :

Grade 12 supplemented by a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Education Assistant and Community Support Certificate)

Two (2) years proven previous work experience working with children, preferably of Aboriginal ancestry.

Valid B.C. Driver's License.

Aboriginal language skills and previous experience supporting the Aboriginal community would be an asset.

The successful incumbent(s) must be willing to travel to our outlying communities while on relief.
