About

Our client, a leading bakery company specializing in thawing and selling baking technology, is seeking a Shunt Driver to start as soon as possible in Scarborough.

Location : Warden and St. Clair

Position Type : Temporary

Shift : Afternoon Shift (03 : 30pm - 11 : 00pm, Monday to Friday)

Salary : $28 / hr

Start date : As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities :

  • Load outgoing trucks and unload incoming trucks at the shipping bay.
  • Shunt trucks in and out of loading docks.
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Complete a Receiving Report to document product cleanliness, truck condition, and proper temperature.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Pick and assemble orders during night shifts to aid in speedy and efficient loading for the next day.
  • Mark shrink-wrapped products / skids with destination information.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify issues.

Route items to the appropriate departments.

  • Operate a lift truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as required from time to time.

Requirements :

  • Hold a valid AZ license and certifications for counterbalance and Raymond Reach.
  • Clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Engage in bending, stooping, squatting, and ladder climbing.
  • Work in various weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
  • Move products in and out of the freezer.
  • Lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg or 50 lbs).
  • Good communication.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Strong work ethic.
