Collections and CustomerService Equipment Leasing

Responsibilities :

  • Promptly notify customers on the assigned tasklist of past due monthly lease or loan payments through daily callsemails letters SMS texts and collect past due payments to restorethe accounts good standing.
  • Advise customerson necessary actions and negotiate debt repayment frequentlyfollowing up for payment commitments as per company processguidelines.
  • Take ownership of yourresults.
  • Ensure compliance with all federaland provincial procedures related to the role as well asestablished company policies and procedures.
  • Solve problems and tactfully manage confrontational orstressful interactions efficiently deescalating complaints whiletreating customers with integrity.
  • Possessknowledge of financial contract terms required to effectivelycommunicate with customers and enforce contracts.
  • Understand Equifax reports and general businessinformation presented to you.
  • Diligently workthrough assigned NSF reports and A / R reports.
  • Make detailed notes on each customer file and efficientlyutilize followup systems to ensure effective time management andcontinuity in the event of absence.
  • Maintain awatch list of files that may result in defaulted leases and assignthem to the Senior Collector.
  • Regularly meetwith the supervisor to review accounts and progress ensuring ARdelinquency is within tolerance levels.
  • Calculate payouts past due balances including latecharges and past due interest.
  • Respect andfollow processes and procedures of various originators when dealingwith customers.
  • Escalate any queries beyondthe scope of individual empowerment to management.
  • Work independently within a team to ensure service levelsare met and assist team members when needed.
  • Meet biweekly with the manager and team to reviewaccounts and progress.
  • Perform other dutiesand special projects as management may require.

Knowledge Skills and ExperienceRequired :

  • StrongEnglish skills both written and oral.
  • Postsecondary education and a minimum of five years ofcollections experience in a commercial / consumerindustry.
  • Proficient computer skills includingMicrosoft Office and Excel applications email and basic internetusage.
  • Ability to interpret Equifax creditreports.
  • Excellent organizational andtimemanagement skills with meticulous attention todetail.
  • Strong persuasion negotiationproblemsolving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and internal customer serviceskills.
  • Ability to understand your customerand solve problems effectively.
  • Ability tocalculate figures and amounts such as interest andpercentages.
  • Ability to work well underpressure meeting tight deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize manage multiple tasks efficientlywith little direct guidance rapidly adapt to a changing environmentand possess strong work ethics.
  • A team playerwho can work independently.
