We have a new opportunity for a Collections Clerk with our client who is a full-servicemercial law firm in Toronto, specializing in real estate, corporate, transactional / lending, andmercial litigation, who also services Canada’s six largest banks, various credit unions, private lenders, entrepreneurs, small, medium, and large enterprises.

Founded in 2004, the firm has grown almost entirely through repeat business and client referrals and has built a reputation on providing highly effective and efficient legal services.

Your new role : Collections ClerkScope of Responsibilities :

  • Performs all debt collection duties in collaboration with the recovery team
  • Negotiates settlement agreements
  • Reporting to clients
  • Answers phone calls, follows-up on inquiries
  • Performs general office and clerical duties

Requirements :

  • A minimum of 2-4 years experience working in a similar role
  • Collection agency experience an asset
  • Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • A calm but professional demeanor for dealing with clients regarding their accounts
  • Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately
  • Perseverance to maintain pressure for payment upon difficult accounts
  • Detail oriented with strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to work with large institutional clients is an asset
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 2010. Previous experience in a Litigation practice would be considered an asset but is not necessary
  • Working knowledge of Cleo Software would be considered an asset

What you get in return : A full-time, permanent opportunity.$50,000-$60,000 + benefits + vacation allowance + 3 paid sick days
