Description
To offer relief on a temporary basis for our driving duties, including picking up and disbursing donations for The Salvation Army North Vancouver
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Driving duties to pick up and deliver food and material donations, as needed
- may assist in processing raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading the donations; protects the integrity of the donations
- may assist with selecting donations for store distribution, meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards
- may assist with meeting assigned daily targets; counts, weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations
- may be contact or make phone calls confirming deliveries and / or pick up’s
- complies with all safety procedures and in / outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines
- May operate warehouse equipment such as power jack.
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Education / Certifications :
- High school diploma
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License supported by a clean Driver’s Abstract
Experience :
Up to 12 months of prior related experience, including experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution and knowledge of lifting guidelines are an asset
Required Skills / Knowledge :
- Experience in sorting food and goods
- Punctuality, reliability, trustworthiness
- Required to lift and / move more than 40 pounds
- May operate warehouse equipment such as power jack
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide :
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
