Early Childhood Development Outreach Worker ( Full Time)

Aboriginal Infant and Family Development Program

The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) is looking to hire a full time Early Childhood Development Outreach Worker for the Aboriginal Infant and Family Development Program to provide services to Indigenous families with children aged 0-6 in the Prince George area.

Early Childhood Development Programs and Services are designed to ensure children get the best possible start in life. The work as an Early Childhood Development Outreach Worker will contribute towards the following long-term outcomes :

  • Mothers are healthy and give birth to healthy infants who remain healthy
  • Children experience healthy early childhood development, including optimal early learning and care
  • Parents are empowered and supported to nurture and care for their children
  • Communities support the development of all children and families
  • Teamwork, listening, understanding, and responding, fostering trust, and developing others are key competencies of this position

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum requirement is a Diploma in a related field (for example : ECD, CYC, Social Services, ECE, etc.), one year experience in family support and 2 years' experience working in an Early Childhood program or Non-Profit Agency OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Must have (or be willing to obtain within 90 days) a valid First Aid Certificate
  • Must have a class 5 driver's license, own reliable transportation, and a clear driver's abstract
  • A Criminal Record Check and review is a requirement of all employees of PGNFC
  • Excellent Benefits Package including, Extended Health Benefits and a RRSP plan
  • Starting wage $25 / hr. - $30 / hr. based on qualifications and experience
