Field Operator
NSB Omega is searching for a Contract Field Operator for our MAJOR oil & Gas Client in Christina Lake, AB.
Assignment Description
Deliverables :
Responsible for operation of a process unit by ensuring activities are focused on safety, production, compliance, etc.
and aligned with business needs and priorities
- Monitors process conditions and initiates troubleshooting activities for all abnormal operational events and takes corrective actions as necessary
- Supports maintenance schedule by preparing equipment for scheduled work
- Involved in the development and review of procedures
- Completes and review e-Log entries
- Conducts walk-arounds, participates in formal safety audits; LOTO, HSE audits
- Performs regulatory compliance checks and reporting requirements
- Supports commissioning and start-up of new equipment and processes, as required
- Contributes to a work environment that supports a motivated, productive team
- Escalates issues that require higher authority for input and resolution
- Participates in cross-functional teams

REGULATORY / ENVIRONMENT
- Familiar with regulatory laws, guides, directives, and corporate policies
- Accountable for terms of licenses, and reporting protocol but not limited to AESO, Alberta Environment, and the AER re : flaring, venting, liquid spills, CEMS contraventions, disposal well pressure exceeding surface water releasing, etc.
- Communicates changes in regulatory policy to their team
- Ensures practices are consistent with Environmental, Regulatory, Health & Safety requirements
- Coordinates activities with other groups, including contractors and vendors; Engineering, Construction, Accounting, Health & Safety, Regulatory (AEUB, AENV, ABSA, WCB, OH&S) and Projects
Qualifications :
- Must have a minimum 1-year of operating experience
- Relevant industry experience would be an asset
- Preference for Fourth Class Certificate with progression towards Third or Second Class Steam Certification
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (driver’s abstract required)
