As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications :

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications :

Recent phlebotomy experience (within one year). Formal urinalysis training course required or current equivalent experience.

Equivalency is defined as completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and / or Combined Laboratory and Xray Technologist (CLXT) program in Canada;

completion of a Medical Lab Technician / Technologist program outside of Canada; and / or MLT or CLXT students who have completed their phlebotomy training / rotation.

Preferred Qualifications :

Competency with the EPIC Information System.
