Mine Operator

The successful candidate will safely and efficiently perform the duties of a Mine Operator in an assigned area on an assigned shift.

What you'll do :

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities through training, practice, experience, examinations and task observation to achieve Master Operator status.

The ideal candidate entering the Mine Operator progression will be placed at the level within the progression that their training qualifications and experience allow.

What you'll need for each Progression Levels :

Mine Operator IV

Demonstrated aptitude for safety.

The ability necessary to progress through the Mine Operator Progression.

Mine Operator III

6 months underground experience

Qualified on 2 out of 8 pieces of equipment (shuttle car, loader, skid steer, scoop, 2 rotors extensible, 4 rotors extensible, flex conveyor, robot tram).

Mine Operator II

18 months underground experience

Qualified on 5 out of 8 pieces of equipment (shuttle car, loader, skid steer, scoop, 2 rotors extensible, 4 rotors extensible, flex conveyor, robot tram)

Mine Operator I

36 months underground experience

Qualified on all 8 pieces of equipment (shuttle car, loader, skid steer, scoop, 2 rotors extensible, 4 rotors extensible, flex conveyor, robot tram)

Qualify on 2 or 4 rotor mining machine and be willing to train on both.

Master Mine Operator

60 months underground experience

Qualified on all 8 pieces of equipment (shuttle car, loader, skid steer, scoop, 2 rotors extensible, 4 rotors extensible, flex conveyor, robot tram)

Qualified on 2 of 3 mining machines (Alpine, 2 Rotor, 4 Rotor)

Must be willing to train on all 3 mining machines.

Take a leadership role on their respective crews.

Perform minor maintenance on the mining machines.

What you'll need :

Demonstrated aptitude for safety and work safely in all situations.

Demonstrate he / she is physically fit and capable of lifting.

Complete training on hand and power activated tools.

Complete exam and task sheets on equipment as required.

Interpret and carry out written or oral instructions, and to make written reports as required.

Diligently adhere to all relevant legal environmental requirements.

Diligently ensure that all relevant OH&S requirements and in-house safety regulations are complied with.
