This employment opportunity is part of Nutrien’s Women in Trades Apprenticeship Program. It is intended to introduce a voluntary self-indentified female student to a career as a Process operator with Nutrien.

The apprenticeship includes tuition support to a post-secondary Power Engineering Technology program, mentorship, professional development and internship work experience.

The Operator-in-Training position is located at our Joffre, Alberta site.

What you will do :

  • Provide support for the safe and efficient operation of the production units
  • Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Obtain steam time working closely under the Shift Engineer or Shift Supervisor
  • Perform duties in a safe manner with a consistent awareness for well-being of all employees
  • Work in a team environment, exhibit strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, and have sound written and verbal communications skills
  • Be able to work rotating shift schedule (days and nights) of 12 hours per shift

What you will bring :

  • Minimum completion of English 30, Math 30, Physics 30
  • Chemistry 30 will be considered an asset
  • Application to post-secondary study in Power Engineering Technology program
  • Available to begin Power Engineering Technology program 2024 / 2025
  • Previous related work experience in an industrial / mechanical setting is preferred
