We are seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Specialist reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is based out of our Pickering facility.
The Quality Engineer is a member of the Quality team responsible to work with all departments on the development of new products while maintaining and improving current products in order to meet customer and IATF 16949 requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing Quality assistance to internal and external customers.
- Manage all internal and customer related corrective action and non-conformance requirements. Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning of all new product launches and engineering changes (ECNs).
- Prepare, review and verify all documentation related to customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
- Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Provide quality support to incoming customer questions and concerns.
- Disposition of suspected non-conformances and initiate required downstream activities. Review, analyze and respond to customer, internal and supplier non-conformances.
- Initiate, coordinate and follow up on corrective and preventative actions.
- Work with cross-functional teams on Advanced Product Quality Planning and in development of new / existing products.
- Develop and validate PPAP documentation in a timely and quality manner. Work with production to implement and review in process inspections.
- Coordinate RMA’s (Return Merchandise Authorization)
- Work with union quality staff on all quality testing.
- Represent the “Voice of the Customer” in part quality issues. Recommend acceptance or rejection.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Three to five years as a Quality Engineer (or equivalent) in the Automotive industry
- University degree / college diploma or successful completion of career related courses preferred. Strong drive for results and ability to complete tasks without direction.
- Advanced knowledge of AIAG Core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA etc.) Understanding of problem solving, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
Proactive approach to quality control and quality assurance.
- Able to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Must possess sound knowledge and ability to use various PC based computer applications.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. Ability to travel to USA, Mexico for business meetings and / or training.
