Position : Rights Coordinator, Content Sales

Location : 299 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario

Salary : Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week. Overtime as required

Description :

The Rights, Acquisitions, and Distribution department at Bell Media has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a sharp eye for detail.

Our ideal candidate will have a keen awareness of the Canadian and global broadcasting, streaming and distribution landscape and a detailed understanding of program rights and the issues and trends driving media.

If you have over 3 years of experience working at a Canadian Broadcaster or Distributor engaged in front-line work in Acquisitions, Program Sales, and / or Rights Management, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Sr. Lead Content Sales and Acquisitions, this position entails a broad mix of responsibilities, including, but not limited to :

  • Act as the key support for content sales, distributing content domestically and globally. This includes interacting with internal stakeholders and external clients to deliver excellent service and drive revenue
  • Prepare client-specific sales decks, and quarterly decks and update client-facing communication covering both new releases and library content
  • Work with production partners to gather materials for wrap binders, and sales support materials including identifying needs for key periods in the sale cycle on a title-by-title basis
  • Identify new clients and join client calls to tailor opportunities by territory and platform
  • Work with various internal departments to support the full end-to-end client experience including operations, delivery, business affairs, and finance and rights management
  • Act as the main point of contact for operations and delivery following a completed sale, ensuring technical specifications and timelines are met
  • Track and deliver regular reports for internal and external stakeholders including production partners and guilds
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma from a media-based program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working for a Canadian Broadcaster or Distributor, with experience in Acquisitions, Programming, Rights Management, or Content Sales a must
  • Demonstrated knowledge of programming trends, the distribution landscape and rights structures
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skill set with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines and competing responsibilities
  • Client-focused with an exceptional approach to customer service toward internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), with advanced Excel skills, including experience creating pivot tables
