Job Description :
In addition to the requirements for Security Guards, Team Leads will be required to perform the activities according to their assigned role as follows but not limited to :
- Ensure that all Security Guards are signed in, briefed, and at their proper locations;
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical team, liaise with Charge Nurses on shift as required.
- Liaise with Site Supervisor / Mobile Supervisor / Field Manager after hours;
- Conduct specialized investigations, as required
- Incident reporting and documentation
- Report all deficiencies
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met
- Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
- Motivate team, recognizing high-performers and submit commendations
- Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
- Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site-specific security policies and procedures
- Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training
- Coach staff when necessary and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
- Audit security equipment
- Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
- Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.
- Communicates any concerns / issues with Client Service Manager
- Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, contractors with parking issues, redirecting parking concerns to parking vender.
- Assist hospital staff, patients, visitors, and contractors with navigating parking vender's machines and / or online portal.
- Assist hospital staff with lost or replacement parking cards as directed by the hospital's process.
- Provide parking passes to authorized individuals and departments
- Monitor and provide access to the contractor parking lot (Lot 3)
- Provide parking vender's contact information to patients, staff, and visitors when requested
- Support the hospital with refilling parking tickets and receipt paper in the parking machines.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- Minimum two (2) years of hospital security experience required
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory / team lead experience is an asset
- Previous experience at this site is mandatory
- Preferred post-secondary education in a Law Enforcement / Security program
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Proof of double Covid Vaccination
- Immunization Record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-Step TB Skin Tests)
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF / MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware : The UoF / MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position / availability
