What this role is all about :

Beem Credit Union is looking for a Supervisor, Member Services to assist the Branch Manager in leading the team at the Merritt Branch.

You are responsible for assisting on sales and services strategies in support of the branch goals. If you are a passionate and engaged leader who fosters a positive team environment and takes an active role in career development activities, we want to hear from you!

This role will enjoy working out of the Merritt Branch full-time. Merritt is a fantastic community in the heart of Nicola Valley, BC.

A role in this region is ideal for someone who enjoys a slower pace of life while being just a short drive away from larger cities like Vancouver and Kelowna.

Offering plenty of sunshine year-round and very little rain, Merritt has excellent schools, parks, recreational facilities and other amenities as well as great economic opportunities in town and nearby.

There is a lot of history in this little town, and a welcoming vibe that greets you right away. Merritt is nestled in the valley around two beautiful rivers with easy access to lakes, trails and great spots for fishing.

What you’ll do :

  • Active involvement in working with other channels ( online, Member Service Centre, etc.) in support of servicing members
  • Oversee branch security as it relates to safety, premises and fire alarms; perform as the branch contact with Chubb Security, Fire Departments and RCMP
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Branch Compliance and Audit Responsibilities
  • Administer cash holdings within the control of the branch - GLs, cash limits, cash orders, insurance limits, custody requirements, etc.
  • Administer the Terms & Conditions of employment and / or Collective Agreement, as they apply to employees in the branch including but not limited to progressive discipline.
  • You will be responsible for the completion and / or delegation of the day-to-day administrative duties in the branch
  • Provide bi-weekly coaching to your team by following the coaching model
  • Assist the Branch Manager to manage controllable expenses and branch budget
  • Actively participate in problem solving to assist in making decisions, implement solutions and adopt changes

A little about your qualifications :

  • High School diploma / Grade , or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Core Credit Knowledge
  • years of job-related experience in a financial sales & services environment
  • Supervisory experience considered an asset
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit products and procedures
  • Knowledgeable in a full range of investment products
